With a lot of help from my friend Paully at “Middleearthdiaper” I developed a top selling product that is fashionable, economical, and oh so cute! Not to mention that they really hold up to heavy wetters and can withstand hard washings! Paully saw my potential as a designer/seamstress, and carved a path for my diaper line by making them the attraction of her store!
Preston’s Pants are pocket cloth diapers constructed of materials such as minky, breathable fleece, wool, or solid pul. Each diaper is fastened by snap closures and comes in a variety of sizes from 7 – 35+ pounds with optional one-size diapers available.
Over the past two months I’ve been experimenting with all sorts of cloth diaper brands, fits, and even materials. When a sample cloth diaper from Preston’s Pants arrived I was really excited because it offered something I have never used before – minky material. Mink is a soft almost velvet like material that you often find baby blankets made of. After wrapping my daughter’s bum in the pale lavender minky cloth diaper I just wanted to squeeze her like a little teddy bear. The inside was layered with soft fleece and backed with 2 mil pul. I have to say it’s the softest I’ve probably felt in a cloth diaper.
The cloth insert easily slipped inside the pocket and stayed put the entire time she wore the diaper. I also really loved how well the diaper fit around her waist and thighs. We’ve had her in the Preston’s Pants cloth diaper several times this week which also included a not so lovely blowout, that didn’t blowout at all. While a little bit of the “nuck nuck” as my toddler calls it did creep up her backside, the majority stayed right where it should be – in the diaper.
While I loved the overall fit, I found the material to be bulky and warm on the skin. My infant’s onesies were difficult to snap around the thick padding of the cloth diaper and left the area around her thighs a little red from the warm minky material on her body. In general, I think the minky material would be best used in the cooler months.
Preston’s Pants cloth pocket diapers start at $19 and you can add custom embroidery to most diapers starting at $8.

Our success comes from our unique designs and high quality materials and craftsmanship. Our animals have gestures and expressions that clearly distinguish them as Douglas. Our faces evoke a sense of endearment.
Douglas Company was one of the last companies to manufacture plush in the United States. Today the stuffed animal designs, created by our talented New England design team, are manufactured in Asia to our exacting specifications and to meet all current
Toy Safety Standards. We have established relationships with carefully chosen factories in Asia. Douglas stuffed animals or made in the highest quality factories. Our factories provide a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. We are concerned about ethical practices in all aspects of our business.
Through the Mom Trials: Wow, and I mean wow! Douglas Toys has an amazing selection of adorable and snuggle worthy plush toys! I can’t get over the cuteness of all the products that are offered and it was difficult to choose just one. I ended up picking out the Broderick Large Lying Down Husky for my almost 5 year old son, Ethan, (because we live in Alaska and my son just loves the Iditarod Dog Race) and you should have seen the look on my children’s faces when I opened up the box and surprised him with it! His eyes were as wide as saucers and was grinning from ear to ear. He couldn’t wait to snatch it up and give it a big, tight squeeze! They’ve practically been inseparable ever since and has become pretty territorial over it. The girls don’t stand a chance to play with it very often and this large plush husky dog has left two of my girls green with envy and wondering when they can get their own lovable, stuffed animal like this one!

I’d have to say that this plush dog is by far one of the nicest stuffed animals I’ve ever come across. You can see the quality craftmanship through out husky and I love that it looks realistic to a real live Husky dog. Even their expressions and poses remind you of the real thing, making it much more charming and irresistable. My kids enjoy it’s large size, perfect for cuddling or even “riding” on like my kids like to do. The dog is super soft and make a terrific bedside companion. I also think it’s neat that you can start your kids a whole collection of large stuffed dogs within the same breed or collect a variety of different breeds. My girls certainly have their favorites among the breeds with Elizabeth eyeing their sweet Sherman Golden Retriever as her choice of plush dog while Liberty is more of a cat person and is in love with Tasha Himalayan Cat that closely resembles our Siamese kitty, Angel. There is just so many good things to say about Douglas stuffed animals and if you like squishy, huggable, and darling plush toys like we do, you’ll have to check out Douglas Toys line of unique and cuddly stuffed animals!
